Jane Krakowski is Mrs. Sharp; Greif directs

Jane KrakowskiTony and Emmy winning Broadway vet and 30 Rock and Ally McBeal star Jane Krakowski will seduce students and kill husbands in the title role of the upcoming workshop of Mrs. Sharp at Playwrights Horizons.  Three-time Tony nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, Grey Gardens) directs.
 
Krakowski currently stars as Jenna Maroney on NBC's two-time Emmy® Award-winning 30 Rock, where she, along with the 30 Rock cast, was nominated for a 2008 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.  During her five-year stint on the Emmy®, Golden Globe, and SAG award-winning series Ally McBeal, she received a Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Elaine Vassal.  Jane Krakowski's theater credits include her stunning and sultry portrayal of Carla in Broadway's Nine opposite Antonio Banderas, she won Tony®, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics awards. She won an Olivier Award while starring in Guys and Dolls with Ewan McGregor on the West End. Krakowski held other acclaimed roles in Broadway productions of Grand Hotel, Company, Once Upon A Mattress, Tartuffe and Starlight Express. During her 2008 hiatus from 30 Rock, Krakowski starred in Encores revival of Damn Yankees opposite Will and Grace star Sean Hayes.
 
Michael Greif is the Tony-nominated Director of the original Broadway productions of Rent, Grey Gardens, and this year’s Next to Normal.  In May, he directed Angels in America scribe Tony Kushner’s The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
 
Mrs. Sharp will be presented July 30 and 31 at 1:30pm and 4:00pm.  Complete casting and more information will be released shortly.
