ALIVE AT TEN selected as part of NYC Disney/ASCAP MT Workshop!

Woo-hoo!!!  The Disney/ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop has selected the newest RSO show Alive at Ten as part of its April-May program in New York City!  And bookwriter Kirsten Guenther and I are in good company… the other selected musicals are The Unauthorized Biography of Samantha Brown by Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk and Out of the Blue by Jenny Giering and Laura Harrington.  The three musicals were chosen from over 200 submissions.

“Ever since she can remember, Kimberly ‘Kimmie’ Sharp has dreamed that she would one day become America's next beloved media personality á la Barbara Walters. Just one problem: she's stuck in a dead end job teaching at the local high school, and her discouraging, undermining husband would prefer she stay that way. But Kimmie's not fazed; once she sets her mind to something, you can bet her husband's life it will happen. It's just the story of a woman and her dream, and her sheer determination to make it come true at all costs-- even if it means manipulation, seducation, and/or murder. Dreams don't die... but people do.”

From press notes: “The [ASCAP] workshop will take place April 30-May 1, and May 22-24, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. sharp, at The Rock Theatre at Roy Arias Studios and Theatres, 300 W. 43rd Street (btw. 8th and 9th Avenues), Room 500, 5th Floor, New York, NY.”

(Note: Portions of Alive at Ten will be presented at 7:00p.m. on April 30 and May 23.)
