An RSO world premiere will help to kick-off the Festival of New American Musicals in Los Angeles.

The event will be hosted by Stephen Schwartz and will also feature performances by Jason Robert Brown, Georgia Stitt, Valerie Pettiford, Juliana Gondek, and Peabody Southwell.  Southwell (pictured left) will sing “The View from Here,” a new song written for the musical Darling, with music and lyrics by Ryan Scott Oliver and book by B. T. Ryback, which the two are currently working on.

Darling tells the story of a young woman swept into an underworld of sex and drugs by a bisexual gigolo in Boston, 1931.
