Oliver and Guenther Selected as Dramatist Guild Fellows On Sept. 24th, RSO and Alive at Ten collaborator Kirsten A. Guenther will join the Dramatists Guild Fellowship, lasting the academic year of ’07-‘08. They are a part of a group including Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, Andy Monroe, Nancy Nevarez, Jason Williamson, Lauren Wilson, Thomas Diggs, and Justin Boyd; the Program is lead by Ragtime team Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.
From their website: “The Dramatists Guild Fellows program is designed for emerging theater writers who have completed a graduate program and are no more than five years past that program, or have comparable experience in organized writers’ workshops or other pertinent experience. The nine-month program includes one-on-one mentoring, group sessions with theater professionals, and, where possible, opportunities to become interns or observers with dramatists involved in professional productions. Each Fellow (or team) will be assigned a mentor who will arrange one-on-one meetings to discuss the Fellow’s ongoing projects and creative concerns. Twice a month we hold critiques, in which Fellows are encouraged to present their own work and discuss it with professionals as well as peers. These sessions are intended both to sustain a sense of community among Fellows and other Guild members and to allow Fellows to explore creative and business issues, drawing on the professionals’ experience.”
